Summer is on the way and its time to start thinking about getting that boat out of the shed or if you're lucky enough out of the marina and get it tuned up and dusted down for the best little event on water, the Newcastle Variety Splash on Lake Macquarie.
The 2010 Newcastle Splash is on February 19th, 20th & 21st. Entry forms are to be completed and sent into the Newcastle Variety Office. See to right of page for details.
Yes, it’s on again so brace yourself for a weekend of indulgence with a heap of good people on one of Australia’s best waterways and experience some great food and great fun all in the name of Variety.
What is the Splash
The Newcastle Variety Splash is a three-day fundraising event on Picturesque Lake Macquarie, Australia’s largest coastal saltwater lake being four-times larger than Sydney Harbour.
The aim of this wonderful event is to raise funds for ill, special needs and disadvantaged children within our community as well as being an enjoyable experience for the entrants and sponsors.
All types of vessels take part in this event; from huge Houseboats and Cruisers to tiny Tinnies and Canoes all enjoying the party atmosphere as they navigate to our predetermined meal stops.
At our meal stops we visit many different communities around Lake Macquarie and with in many of these communities there are many children we help by donating much needed medical and educational equipment.
This event in brief is a layback tour of entertaining, sightseeing and giving.
