Variety, the Children’s Charity (NSW) is dedicated to improving the quality of life of children with special needs.
We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to make the most of their abilities and to achieve their aspirations and dreams.
In 2007, Variety NSW achieved a new milestone with a record achievement in total appeals granted of $3,944,724.00.
Whilst a dollar figure can be put on funding of equipment and services by Variety, there is no way to measure the value of experiences which Variety provides for children.
Aside from equipment and facilities Variety also provides life experiences for disadvantaged children and those living in remote areas.
Across Australia, Variety provides around 1 million dollars a month in assistance to special needs children, but much more is needed to reach all the children that need our help.
Each month we have to turn down worthy appeals because we do not have enough money.
What Variety Does
Every year we raise valuable funds through numerous events.
These funds are channelled in a straight forward and transparent manner into our Grants Programs.
Our three major Programs provide specialised equipment and services for children, children’s hospitals, community groups, schools and organisations.
The grants fall into three national categories, referred to collectively as the Variety Challenge Program:

The Variety Freedom Program provides for mobility, communication devices and independence such as wheelchairs, Liberty Swings and Sunshine Coaches.

The Variety Caring For Kids Program supports NSW health services including hospitals, intensive care units and specialised medical services.
- The Variety Future Kids Program helps special needs and disadvantaged children in a number of ways.
